The Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today it will award $41.2 million through its Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) program to 41 Missouri communities to help them prevent, prepare for, and respond to the lasting effects of COVID-19. Funded project types include broadband development, infrastructure improvements, public facility construction, and more.
Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader serving the utility, industry and infrastructure sectors, announced today it will expand in Jefferson City, investing approximately $10 million and adding 75 new jobs. Hitachi Energy’s expansion will allow for increased operations at the facility owned by the company, which has had a presence in the state’s capital for 50 years.
Hillyard, Inc. announced today it will expand in St. Joseph, investing more than $50 million and retaining more than 200 high-paying jobs in the area. The expansion of the leading manufacturer and distributor of cleaning and hygiene solutions will redevelop an existing downtown location.
Cargill, a global leader in food production and agricultural services, announced today that it will build a new soybean processing facility near Caruthersville in Pemiscot County. When complete, the new facility will be one of Cargill’s largest soy processing facilities in North America and create 45 new high-paying jobs in the region.
