Missouri Works: Investment Works

Implementation date: August 28, 2026

Investment Works, a new Missouri Works discretionary subprogram, encourages large-scale capital investment projects that strengthen Missouri's economy through significant business expansion and long-term investment.

The program provides performance-based tax credits for qualifying companies making substantial new capital investments in Missouri. To be eligible for consideration of Missouri Works Investment benefits, the Qualified Company must invest a minimum of $30 million if the Project Facility is located within a certified Missouri Innovation Zone (MIZ), or $50 million if not located within a certified MIZ.  These minimum amounts must be invested within two years of the date of the Notice of Intent. The minimum investment amounts may be higher under a department proposal.

The discretionary benefit is a Tax Credit in an amount not to exceed 2.5% of the New Capital Investment at the Project Facility during the three-year period beginning with the date of the Notice of Intent.  The Tax Credit percentage will be stated in the proposal.  The 2.5% cap and the three-year benefit term cannot be modified through a proposal.

The Missouri Works Investment subprogram is in effect as of August 28, 2026. Qualified Companies interested must receive a proposal from the Department.

The Regional Engagement division at DED serves as the first and primary contact for this program. The division consists of six regional teams that span the entire state. Please visit the Regional Engagement contact page to find a contact near you.
