Workforce Training
  • US Economic Development Administration (EDA): EDA grant resources include a directory with links to critical local resources and other grantee information.
  • Small Business Administration (sba.gov): SBA helps small business owners and entrepreneurs by providing counseling, capital, and contracting expertise.
  • Delta Regional Authority Workforce Program: The Delta Workforce Grant Program (DWP) is an initiative designed to build long-term community capacity and increase economic competitiveness by providing grants to support workforce training and education programs in Missouri and seven other states in the delta region.
  • Missouri One Start Training: Missouri One Start is the state’s premier workforce recruitment and training division. It helps eligible businesses of all sizes stay competitive by providing customized recruitment assistance, as well as resources to train and upskill new and existing employees. Its recruitment strategies and training programs are tailored to the specific workforce needs of the businesses it serves. 573-526-9239
  • Contact Our Regional Engagement Team: Regional Engagement specialists serves as the first and primary contact for DED’s local partners and business and community customers as they access state and federal agency resources. They are valuable local resources for employers and communities.
  • Missouri Department Economic Development Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
  • Missouri Apprentice Connect: Apprenticeship programs provide workforce training for individuals and help employers create their own talent pipeline.  Employers may include an apprenticeship program as part of their recruitment and training strategies.
  • Local Workforce Development Boards: Regional workforce activities are coordinated by Local Workforce Development Board (WDB). WDBs are business-led, regional organizations whose mission is employment & training needs for businesses and for job seekers. WDBs, along with the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development oversee Missouri Job Centers.
  • Missouri Job Centers: Job Centers help employers connect with skilled job seekers. Job-matching services, hiring and recruiting events, customized training assistance, and other business services are all offered at no cost.
  • MoSCORES: MoSCOREs is a statewide system that allows users to explore programs at different education levels, including traditional degree programs and credentials. Employers may use it to find training locations in their area, as well as: program requirements, tuition, and program outcomes.
  • Fast Track: The Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant is a financial aid program that addresses workforce needs by encouraging adults to pursue a certificate, degree, or industry-recognized credential in an area designated as high need. It is a workforce training funding resource.
  • Missouri Department of Corrections (DOC) re-entry program: Employers looking for trained workers may contact DOC to connect with justice involved individuals as potential employees.
  • Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) Resource Guide: This guide from DSS provides information to help individuals with basic needs and support that could help them during their training and to overcome barriers to employment.
  • Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE): Workforce Training related information from DESE includes:
    • Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Business Services team: The VR team provides assistance for businesses searching for innovative ways to meet employment needs. The program can help connect employers with employees and helps them achieve a diversified workforce. Their candidates are people with disabilities with a variety of skill sets who are motivated to work. They match qualified candidates with employers labor force needs.
    • Missouri’s Early Care and Education Connections (ECE): The ECE website includes a link to child care referral database as well as training opportunity information.
  • Missouri Public Health Association (MPHA): This online resource page provides local public health agencies with Workforce Development resources and tools needed to achieve an efficient and effective public health system.
  • : MHA supports hospital efforts through workforce analyses, training programs and health career promotion.

  • Partnerships & Programs - Industry Portal (visitmo.com) | Missouri Division of Tourism: Partnerships & Programs for Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) designed to help tourism entities discover ways to get more travelers to Missouri destinations.

  • Recreational Trails Program Grants | Missouri Department of Natural Resources: A federally-funded assistance program designed to provide and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both motorized and non-motorized recreational use.
